My idea was to give an enemy encounter character by having the enemy NPC be actively participating in a ritual within the environment, rather than just sitting/ standing around or moving on a predetermined path. The goat-headed man would be dancing around the fire and casting spells that could create other enemies or effect the environment, giving the player reason to investigate and interfere with the NPC, rather than just looking for a fight.
